H1B visa applications for FY2012 can start to be filed today, April 1st, 2011

H1B FY 2012 Visa Overview:
H1B visa applications for Fiscal Year 2012 ~ 85,000 new H1B visas are available now
H1B visas filed and issued during 2011 are officially classed by the US Government as H1B FY2012 visa petitions. However, these visas can be filed and issued during 2011 with work employment start dates this year. Today April 1st, 2011 is the first day that US employers can start filing H1B visas for new workers they want to hire and sponsor for this years H1B FY2012 visa quota (known as H1B Cap) and that they want to start work this year.
H1B workers who obtain visa sponsorship employment offers with US companies can start work in the USA later this year after their visa has been filed and issued by the USCIS (the US Governments Immigration Bureau).
A total quota of 85,000 H1B visas are availablefor this year: With a total of 85,000 H1B's available and the economy recovering for this H1B visa FY 2012 season, it's important for US employers to try to complete their recruitment and hiring of new H1B workers as early as possible and to have their immigration counsel prepare and file applications with the USCIS as early as possible. It's equally important for International professionals and students to try to obtain and secure H1B visa sponsorship jobs and employment offers in the USA as early as possible, to help ensure visa issuance before all the available H1B's are taken for the year.
What is the Fiscal Year? FY (Fiscal Year) is defined as the legal 365 day period of time that the Government uses for all Federal and Fiscal operations. The Governments Fiscal Year for 2012 starts on October 1st 2011, and H1B visas can be filed and issued up to 6 months before the Fiscal Year starts (which is from April 1st onwards).
New FY 2012 H1B visas are now availabe for:
1) first-time H1B visa status for people living overseas someone who wants to emigrate to live and work in the USA
2) first-time H1B status for people already living in the USA someone who is already on non-immigrant status (like, F1, H4, L1, J1, TN, O, P, etc.),
3) first-time H1B status for students and graduates on F1 and OPT
MBA and above level US based graduating students also have the 20,000 ADE quota
