It may surprise some people that IBM has quite a long history that stretches back to the early days of the 20th Century. From the 1930s to the 1970s, amongst it's accolades: IBM developed the FORTRAN programming and introduced the first modern family of computers (the IBM System/360). During the 1980s, IBM was a leader in the PC market, and in the 90s, it has invested heavily in the development of artificial intelligence. When compared to other top 10 H1B hiring companies, it hired for a relatively narrow range of professions, including Computer Programmers, Computer Systems Analysts, Computer and Information Systems Managers, Systems Software Developers, Training and Development Specialists and Management Analysts

IBM seems to be less efficient in its H1B visa filing habits when compared to some other tech companies of its caliber. Of the 1953 Visas it filed for, 129 were withdrawn and 21 were outright denied. As a result, Big Blue has sponsored 1,803 foreign nationals to work in the country on H1B visas.

In terms of salary, IBM paid the H1B employees it hired somewhere between $52,666 and $119,454 a year. All of these were filed for from the company's Research Triangle Park and Durham locations.
